Weeellll, sorry for not posting yesterday as I promised but I was too tired after the shooting. I woke up about 6.30am yesterday and got home about 9pm. A whole day of filming and acting. That's tough, considering that I'm new at this and I got very little sleep on Friday night.
First I went to Nanyang Polytechnic to film tennis. There I met with my SportSwap partner, Amanda(from Nanyang Girls High), who is the representative of her sport, tennis. The film crew started off filming Amanda playing some tennis with her friend and then got her to say a few lines (everything was scripted). She then taught me how to play tennis(which was also scripted), and we got into various tennis poses before playing while the film crew filmed the whole process. Then the director told us to repeat a few more times. All the posing, playing and our lines had to be filmed multiple times, and it was after 2pm did we leave the tennis court. According to the schedule, we were late, as we were supposed to reach Victoria School by 1.30pm. Anyway, spending the whole morning under the glaring hot sun got me a sunburned skin.
We reached Victoria School an hour late, and we got to work as fast as we could, setting up the equipments and taking down the New Year decorations etc. It was hard work, but we soon had the camera rolling, and we started on badminton. I played with another player from Chung Cheng High before doing my lines. They then filmed me teaching Amanda on how to play badminton and after posing and playing badminton with her, it was nearly evening. The whole shoot was expected to end at around 7.30pm, but it was 8.45pm when we finally wrapped up the whole thing.
Upon reaching home I was too tired to do anything but to shower, eat and sleep, much less updating my blog. Anyways this had gone long enough. The programme will be put on air somewhere around March or April. Once I get the clip I will post it up, so do not worry. ~Nil Sine Labore~

Tournament today against Bedok North Sec. Beat them 5-nil of course. duh. Well the producer of Sports Swap called me after I've reached home, reminding me that tomorrow is the filming.  The venue will be at Nanyang Poly, and I've to be there by 8.15am. I will be learning tennis there before proceeding to Victoria School for the filming of  badminton. Anyways I got to memorise my script and I hope that all will go well. I will post again tomorrow after my shooting.
If you are wandering about my stories, well so sorry but you will have to wait slightly longer. I'm currently working on the maps of my stories and they must fit the plot of the story. There are also competitions and the CAs are coming up, but I will try my best to post up the first chapter ASAP as well as the completed maps. Please be patient, thank you.  BTW beat my highscore of 28090 in the first game. :-) ~Nil Sine Labore~

27 January 09 - Tue
The second day of the Lunar New Year. More visiting, collecting red packets and eating tid- bits. What do you expect? The typical procedure of the annual Lunar New Year. You know, it gets boring after awhile(no really! I'm not joking!). Anyway, instead of relatives visiting us today, my parents and I went out visiting. We woke up at 9am in the morning but it was about 11.30am when we left the house, as my father's cousin came to pay us a surprise visit. My parents and grandparents did not expect them to come so early as the told us they will come in the afternoon, and soon they were hiding in their rooms preparing the red packets for the children
 of my father's cousin.
We got out of the house in the end, and though we were slightly late, we still went to my granduncle's place to pay our respects before going to my great grandmother's place for lunch. We got lost on the way as she had shifted house and we end up taking a taxi even though we were planning to take a public bus there. Anyway we reached there in the end, with everyone else sitting round the television watching Bruce Almighty. Yea, we were the latest, but who cares? I got my food(its a buffet style)
and sat beside my close cousin, Bryan, and watched the television programme with them, occasionally interrupted by aunts and uncles giving me red packets and wishing me Happy New Year.
It was halfway through the show did the first group of people left the house. Bryan left soon after, saying that they have a friend whom they have to visit. And before I knew it, most of my relatives had already left, I watched finished the show and proceeded to have a second serving of food before my mother informed me that we will be leaving. We said our goodbyes and after asking directions on how to go to the correct bus stop, left the house.
We came back home and after a shower, its was dinner time. Now I am sitting down in front of my laptop typing this entry for today, feeling stuffed up. I will sign off from here, goodbye and once again, Happy Lunar New Year!!!

26 January 09 - Mon
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME. Its the first day of Chinese New Year, and its my birthday too! Woke up late this morning, and wished everyone a happy chinese new year, collecting red packets on the way.
It was just after 12pm when my relatives started to arrive(I lived with my grandparents) and I got around collecting more red packets from them. We chit-chatted abit before the steamboat was ready and soon we were sitted round the table which was filled with many delicious food and the steamboat bubbling in the middle.
After eating, we ate an almond pudding home-made by one of my aunts. My cousin had brought her pet dog Vivi and we took turns playing with her, as well as feeding her until my aunt told us to stop, or else Vivi will get sick. A playful an
d active dog, Vivi ran out of the house and all my cousins as well as me spent at least half an hour trying to catch her at the void deck of my house. Vivi apparently ran down the stairs which was right outside my house with us at her tail, trying to outrun us, thinking it was a game. My cousin gave her a good scolding and put on her leash from then on.
There was many tid-bits and we gourged ourselves throughout the afternoon. My uncle had brought a pack of cards and soon we were playing Blackjack throughout the rest of the time.
It was about 4pm when they all left. I took a second shower before taking the chance that since there is no guest, I did my tuition homework until evening. The rest of the night passed on as per normal as no more guest arrived, which I find myself now writing my journal for today.
Its getting late and I am weary. I will be looking forward to tomorrow. Goodnight and Happy Lunar New Year!

17 January 09 - Sat

Have a appointment with the one of the directors of Disney Channel that will be in charge of my filming.
Last year, a team representing Disney Channel came over to Bedok Sports Hall to give an audition of "Sports Swap" to the badminton team. They said that they will pick a boy to represent the sport badminton on "Sports Swap". I went through the audition naturally, without the much exaggerated emotions when you are being interviewed, and I did not expect to get picked for the programme. It was a few days ago that i got a call from Disney Channel that i was the one they picked, and the director wants to meet me on the 17th of January at Funan Centre's McDonald.
I went to the allocated place with the company of my parents 5 minutes early this afternoon, and the director(who is a female in her early 30s i guess) with 2 other assistants joined us almost immediately. The director congratulated me personally after we had introduced ourselves, and run a brief show of "Sports Swap" to give us a better idea of what the show is all about. We then went through some of the lines that are prepared for me with different tones and emotions. This was not particularly difficult as last year all secondary ones must go through a speech and drama workshop and i have some experience in acting and talking in different emotions.
Anyway the session was quite fast and soon the whole thing was over, and I got to clear all my doubts i have about the whole thing. The director was very friendly as with her 2 assistants, and I soon feel at ease, and they gave their best answers to my inquiries.
After the whole thing was over I took my lunch at McDonald's before heading home. I will be looking forward to the filming day. Wish me all the best! Thanks!

Got my Edusave scholarship award this morning. It was my first time collecting the award and I felt quite excited.
I got the 3rd position in class for the final year exams last year, and the award is given to the top 10% of students in each class. I received the letter in December last year, informing me that I am invited to the Edusave scholarship award presentation ceremony, at Tampines West Community Centre.
The letter states that the ceremony will start at 11am, and told us to arrive 45 minutes earlier for registration. That means I will have to be there at 10.15am. I left my house at 10am, and reached at 10.30am due to some unfortunate delays, and to my embarrassment, I saw that three quarters of the students had already arrived. I immediately found my seat and sat down. I was too excited to be observant of my surroundings until someone elbowed me on my right. I turned my head with a glare and saw myself staring at a plump boy of my age. I took a few seconds to recognise him; he was a friend of mine when i was still in primary school. I was surprised, as I did not expect to meet anyone I knew at the ceremony.
After the usual questions about our welbeing and progress in our new school, I asked him how long had he been sitting here since he arrived (I was still slightly peeved at the time I reached). He replied that he had been here just a few minutes ago, and already he feels bored. I understood him. Sitting down in a sea of strangers waiting for the ceremony to start in half an hour is not how I would like to spend my time. I rapidly engage him in conversation until the V.I.Ps and the guest of honor, Mr Masagos Zulkifli, made their dramatic entrance at 11am. We then spent the next hour collecting our awards with hundreds of other students. It was very boring throughout the whole process (except when I was receiving my award), and I was disappointed, with my initial excitement gone. When it was finally over, I was glad to be rid of the crowd and proceeded home after exchanging goodbyes to my friend.
I was an eye-opener to me despite the long and boring process, as it was my first time attending such an event, and I hope that this year I will do better and get another scholarship award.
